Samantha A.Oundo
I am a 19-year-old with a strong passion for community service, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship. My personal journey of overcoming early challenges including a misdiagnosed health condition and academic setbacks has shaped me into a resilient, sympathetic, and motivated individual committed to uplifting others.
Academically, I have successfully completed both my primary from St Anne’s primary school Mumias and secondary education from St Joseph’s girl’s highschool kitale showing consistent improvement and perseverance through adversity. My experiences have taught me the value of self-discipline, mentorship, and support systems values I now seek to share with other young women.
I have been actively involved in informal community programs, including peer mentorship, youth discussions on business development and wellness, and advocacy for girls facing challenges related to financial independence and self-esteem. Additionally, I have participated in small-scale income-generating projects within my school and community, where I helped organize handmade product sales, assisted in budgeting, and encouraged young girls to explore self-reliance through simple entrepreneurial activities.
While volunteering with Initiative for Community Resilience in Busia district, I empower women through entrepreneurship, as I believe strongly in helping women become economically independent, confident, and capable of shaping their futures. My goal is to contribute positively to such initiatives while continuing to learn and grow in the field of community development.
