Marina Bochsler is a Co-founder and Deputy Executive Director of ICR. She is focused on strengthening the capacity of communities to adapt and thrive amidst social, environmental, and economic challenges.

Marina is a Swiss national with extensive international experience in the humanitarian and development sector, having worked with multilateral organisations and global partnerships across many countries. Marina is currently based in the UK, where she contributes her expertise as Humanitarian Project Manager supporting the UK Government in response to crises across the globe.

Marina holds a Master’s degree in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she specialised in topics such as forced migration and refugees, gender and social change in the Global South, and inclusive governance. Her academic and professional work reflects a deep commitment to advancing social justice and community resilience in fragile and complex settings.

She previously worked as a Consultant for UN Women, identifying key barriers to the integration of gender equality aspects into water management and energy transition policy in Central Asia and the Western Balkans. Prior to that, she worked with the Red Cross, supporting humanitarian programming and emergency response efforts.

In 2022, Marina travelled to Uganda and visited local communities alongside the Executive Director Geffrey Bwireh. This experience left a lasting impression and further strengthened her belief in the importance of grassroots leadership and community-driven resilience.
